Jr. Women’s Club kicks off new season

The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club (JWC) will kick off its 2018-2019 season on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 30019 Buck Tail Dr. Social hour starts at 6:30 p.m., meeting starts at 7 p.m. Women in the community are invited to attend the meeting to learn more about JWC and its philanthropic endeavors. JWC is a non-profit philanthropic club that holds fundraising events throughout the year to help fund scholarship programs, help local families in need and donate to park improvements in Canyon Lake.

JWC is currently planning its next community event, the 5th annual Rocktoberfest. Rocktoberfest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Holiday Harbor Park and will feature beer tastings from local microbreweries, vendors, live music, food, games and opportunity drawings. Stamp cards will be available for beer tastings. An ID and wristband will be required to purchase tastings. Proceeds for this event will go toward community beautification and philanthropy projects that JWC has planned for the year.

JWC’s annual Holiday Boutique will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Details will be posted at a later date.
