Bassmasters Club announces monthly tournament winners

Thirteen teams participated in the Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club monthly tournament on Aug. 4.

The team of Jude Donahue and Travis Smith came in first place with five fish weighing 14.40 pounds. Joe Merrill and Trevor Moreno took second place with five fish weighing 13.24 pounds. The team of Terry Voss and Steve Marin placed third with five fish weighing 12.40 pounds.

Travis Smith earned the title of “Big Fish of the Day” with a bass weighing 4.69 pounds.

All fish were released back into the lake.

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club.

Tournaments are typically held on the first Saturday of each month. Residents who like to fish and want to improve their skills in a low stress, friendly competitive environment are invited to join.
