Sisters take nostalgic trip to Cambria, CA

Sisters Janine Pennell and Lynda Salina, along with their husbands Larry Pennell and Chris Salina, traveled to Cambria, California, July 22 through July 25. Cambria is a place the sisters have been vacationing since they were young girls. “It’s a place our parents loved to go,” Janine said.

The couples stay in a small cottage and enjoyed shopping, walking along the beach and visiting Harmony, a nearby town with a population of 13. They also visited Moonstone Beach which is a tradition for them.

“Moonstone Beach got its name from all of the small rocks that washed up and down the shore,” Janine explains. “With the climate changes the rocks are not as prevalent as they were in the early 60s but the beauty of the coastline is still there.”

The Pennells and Salinas were happy to beat the heat of Canyon Lake for a few days. “The temperatures were in the 60s and low 70s,” Janine said. “We are all ready to return to Cambria.”
