New wave band Berlin returns to CL Sept. 15

Back by popular demand, new wave band Berlin, featuring Terri Nunn, will perform at the lodge on Saturday, Sept. 15. The concert is the final concert in the POA’s 2018 “Concerts at the Lodge” series.

Berlin’s 2017 Canyon Lake concert sold out, so early ticket purchase is recommended. General Admission tickets are $32; VIP tickets are $57. Tickets are available at the POA office and online at canyonlakepoa.com.

Berlin gained mainstream-commercial success in the early 80s with singles “The Metro” and “No More Words.” In the mid-80s, Berlin topped the charts with their single “ Take My Breath Away” from the 1986 film Top Gun. The song was a huge international hit and earned an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

Concert promoter Doug Schultz says the show will be a mix of Berlin’s 80s classics peppered with tracks from their latest release.

Award-winning singer/songwriter Chris James will be opening the show. Chris has shared the stage with national acts as Sugar Ray, Hootie and the Blowfish and REO Speedwagon. His band 34Below has achieved success with both national and independent releases garnering radio play across the globe.

The Lighthouse Restaurant will offer a special concert menu starting at 2 p.m. Happy Hour specials will not be offered on the day of the concert. Reservations are recommended.

The “Concerts at the Lodge” concerts are sponsored by the POA and produced by Doug Schultz. Doug, concert manager for the Entercom San Diego radio stations, is a project manager, talent buyer and contract negotiator of over 2,000 concerts and special events. He has over 30 years experience in the concert business and has worked with over 5,000 national acts.
