CL Woman’s Club announces new president

Bonnie Wade will serve as the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club 2018/2019 president. Outgoing president Sue Collins handed over the gavel to Bonnie at the club’s June meeting.

At the June meeting, Sue toasted the group and thanked them for their support. “Thank you to all the presidents in the past 45 years for their time and effort,” she said. “A special thanks to my board for all their hard work and learning new things. Hopefully, they had fun doing it. Thank you to all the committee chair members for their hard work, it takes a lot of dedicated volunteers to put on our club events to raise money for our local organizations and students.”

Sue said serving as the Woman’s Club president has been a fun, educational, eye-opening and rewarding experience.

Bonnie, a 13-year member of the club, is looking forward to serving as president. “I am honored to be the president and looking forward to serving the club, working with the wonderful women in the community and helping others,” said Bonnie. For this year’s theme quote, Bonnie chose, “Friendship gives wings to the heart with gratitude.”

Bonnie will take over as president when the club resumes its monthly meetings on September 19. There are no meetings in July and August. The Woman’s Club meets monthly on the third Wednesday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Vendor hour is from 9 to 10 a.m.; meeting begins at 10 a.m. Lunch is $14.
