Waller family to host final 4th of July Bike Ride

It’s time to dust off your bikes and join the Waller family for their annual 4th of July Bike Ride. The Wallers are moving on to new adventures in Colorado, this will be the last community bike ride they host in Canyon Lake.

This free event for residents and their guests kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Waller home, 30525 Longhorn Dr, on the July 4. The bikes will travel to Happy Camp, loop around the campground, travel to down Big Range Rd. and then back to the Waller home where a breakfast will be shared.

Participants are asked to bring a breakfast dish, donuts, fruit, or other breakfast item to share. Kid friendly drinks and water are also needed.

Those who don’t want to ride a bike are welcome to ride along in a golf cart. Bike and carts should be decorated with a 4th of July theme. The Wallers ask that all kids riding on bikes follow the law by wearing a helmet.

Karen and Taz Waller started the bike ride in 2004 with just a handful of dads and kids. Today, its grown into an annual event that attracts hundreds of participants.

The event has raised thousands of dollars through the years to help Canyon Lake families in need.
