The Beautification Tournament, formally known as the Tree Tournament, was formed in 1982 by Jim Magill and his late wife Christine. The entry fee at that time was one 15-gallon tree. As a result of the tournament, 217 trees were donated and planted on the golf course that year. When no more trees were needed, the tournament name was changed to the Beautification Tournament.

The tournaments have raised more than $50,000 for golf course improvements. Past projects include brass yard markers, 13 benches around the course and a street clock, to name a few.
