Smith, Marin take first in Bassmasters tournament

The Canyon Lake Bassmasters held its monthly fishing tournament on Saturday, June 9, from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The team of Travis Smith and Steve Marin placed first with a total fish weight of 16 pounds. Travis also caught the Big Fish of the Day, weighing 4.05 pounds.

Second place went to the team of Kevin Hugo and Jude Donahue with five fish weighing 14.53 pounds.

The Team of Chuck Moreno and Danny Batinich place third with five fish weighing 3.26 pounds.

All fish were released back into the lake.

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Tournaments are typically held on the first Saturday of each month.
