Near and Far: Hans and Linda Weg spend week in Maui

Hans and Linda Weg recently returned to Canyon Lake on June 2 after spending a week in Maui. This was their fifth trip to the island.

The couple attended a luau at the Hyatt Resort, watched sunsets on the beach, hiked a trail to Mokuleia Bay, attended a church service on the beach and visited Ioa Valley State Park, Nakalele Blowhole and Oneuli Black Sand Beach

One activity the couple enjoys when visiting Maui is eating shaved ice while sitting under the banyan tree in Lahaina. “The tree is so neat,” Hans said. “It covers a whole city block.”

The Wegs said they love visiting Maui but would not like to live there. “We would get island fever and it’s just too expensive there,” Hans said. “The property and the food are very expensive.”
