Canyon Lakers honor their mothers

To help celebrate Mother’s Day, The Friday Flyer invited Canyon Lake residents to honor their mothers or the mother of their children by sharing a favorite memory or a lesson learned.

Well, Mom is in her 80s and I’m in my 60s. We’ve been through a lot. She still tells me what to do; little helpful tidbits. I use to resent it but now I’m older and wiser. I’m so glad she loves me enough to pass on her wisdom, like to wear a hat in the sun, to use sunscreen and eat smaller portions. She always has wonderful cooking tips and remembers to pray and be always be thankful. I love you, Mom. Thank you never seems enough.

Mumzie you mean the world to us as the matriarch of the family. The world is a better place because you are here and your love for us is contagious. Thank you for being who you are and showing us that love is the best way to start every day. We love you and are glad that you are here with us after 92 years. Happy Mothers Day.

What is a mother? Is there a word, a single word that could sum it up? I don’t think so. If I had to pick though, I would say love. I have had the best champion, cheerleader, teacher, mentor and sometimes butt kicker a person could ask for. My mom is my very best friend and I can’t imagine living one day on this earth without her. She stands by me, even when she doesn’t always agree with me. She holds my hand when I need support and she shares in all my successes, both big and small. I couldn’t ask for a better mother.

I love you, Mother. I can always depend on you for words of wisdom (or at least opinion) when I feel lost. I respect that our relationship has grown so that sometimes I come to you for help, and sometimes you come to me.

I appreciate the love you have inspired for me for the finer things in life, whether its cheese, a hot cup of tea, a good book, or a cuddly blanket. Nothing can be better when life’s all awry, except perhaps your company.

Thank you for being a silly and joyful person when the time is right for it. Happy Mother’s Day to you. I hope to share a cup of tea with you soon, cheers!

I honor my mom for her always being there for our family when we need it. She’s always there to talk to or just spend time with if you need a friend. She deserves so much credit for what she does for us and others. My mom spends her spare time with me and my siblings, helping with my softball, entertaining my little brother and doing makeup and other things with my little sister. So happy Mothers Day Mom, we all love and honor you for everything you do for us.

Happy Mother’s Day to our mom. We love you so very much and are so lucky to have such an amazing mom who has always loved us and had our backs. Thank you for always reminding us that no matter what life brought our way, this too shall soon pass. You reminding us of this helped support us through all of life’s tribulations and that with the strength of the Lord behind us, there’s nothing we can’t overcome. You are such a role model to us with your heart for the people and animals around you and willingness to serve others. You were there throughout every moment of our lives and couldn’t have asked for a better mother than you. We better understand what it means to walk with Jesus through your shining example. You bring light to our lives and those around you. We love you very much.

I love, honor and admire my mother for all the following reasons and so many more. My mom Kathy Faught has always been my biggest supporter in everything I have done. She taught me so many life lessons growing up and because of her love and guidance, I have raised an amazing daughter. She taught me respect, morals, and good family values. My mom is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, she is very crafty and is always there for friends and family. I am lucky to call her my mom and so lucky her and my dad moved to Canyon Lake years ago to be closer to my family. Even after all these years, we still enjoy weekly dinners with my parents, fun activities and traveling. We are very lucky for her love and support. I am looking forward to showing her my appreciation with our traditional Mother’s Day brunch at the Lighthouse Restaurant. My mom has made me a better person and I know she is always there for me and vice versa. I am honored to call her my mom.

I may be in college next year but you’ll still be the best mom anyone could have! I know you’ve done the best job any mom could have preparing me to be on my own. No more relying on you for dishes and laundry! I love you for all that you have done and continue to do for me everyday.

My mother always used to say “you can’t un-ring a bell,” meaning that you can’t take back something once you’ve said it or done it. Although it drove me crazy at the time, it’s now one of my favorite phrases. As an adult, it reminds me to think carefully and mindfully before speaking or acting and reminds me to be respectful in all my relationships.
