Club seeks community’s help collecting pull-tabs

The Canyon Lake Lioness Club is seeking the community’s help collecting pull-tabs for a fundraising project to benefit Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House. Aluminum pull-tabs can be popped off of soda, beer, soup and other food cans.

The Lioness Club will be delivering its collection of pull-tabs on Friday, May 4. Those wishing to donated pull-tabs may give them to any member of the Lioness Club or deliver them to Joanna Spiller at 23651 Cruise Circle Dr. before May 2.

The collected pull-tabs will be weighed and sold with the proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House program began in 1974 based on a simple idea: Provide a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

Since that time, more than 10 million families around the world have benefited from the comfort provided by a Ronald McDonald House.

Dozens of families will be able to stay closer to their hospitalized children thanks to a recent expansion to the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House.

In December 2017, a 45,000 square foot expansion was accomplished, adding 33 new guest suites, tripling in size to meet the growing needs of more than 1,000 families served each year from areas that include Riverside, San Bernardino, Coachella Valley and beyond.
