Chair Volleyball Club hosts Cookie Class

The Chair Volleyball Club invited women in the community to its Cookie Decorating Class on Saturday at the Activities Building at East Port Park.

The class was hosted by Activities Chair Karen Bevans and taught by Vanessa Holtkamp of Kilted Cakes & Supplies.

Each of the 20 women who attended decorated six pre-made cookies to take home. “Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves,” said Karen. “We had a lot of fun and laughs.”

The Chair Volleyball Club’s next event is Kentucky Derby Potluck in May. The Senior Chair Volleyball Club is for seniors 50 years of age and older. The club promotes fitness fun and the spirit of competition through the organized playing of chair volleyball. The game is played using a beach ball and a 5 ft. net while players are seated.

Members meet weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Competitive play starts at 8 p.m.; regular play starts at 9:30 a.m. For more information, contact President Tom Green at 951-764-7688.
