FMC to host community Club Rush Apr. 22

The Family Matters Club is hosting a Club Rush event on Sunday, Apr. 22 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park. This is a free community event.

Club Rush provides the opportunity for the community to learn about – and join – dozens of clubs in the community, and to learn more about the businesses in the Towne Center.

“This gives community members a chance to come out and find out what clubs have to offer, what some clubs do and find clubs they may not know there were,” said Family Matters Club founder Shawna Bowen. “The basic premise is for clubs to get their name out to the community and for the community to come see what our great clubs have to offer.”

Each participating club will have a booth representing what they offer. Several businesses in the Towne Center will also be participating, providing the community an opportunity to learn more about the Towne Center businesses and what services they offer. “There are a lot of businesses in the Towne Center that even after nine years I didn’t know were there or offered a particular service,” said Shawna.

Community members who attend will be given a passport to travel around to each booth to collect stamps. Each booth will have something fun for the community members to do. Once completed, the passport can be turned in for a chance to win a grand prize basket worth more than $200.

There will be fun competitions and a free kids zone with a bounce house. The snack bar will be open offering snacks and drinks.

Booth spaces are available for $35 for POA sanctioned clubs and Towne Center and Eastport Market Center businesses; $40 for non-sanctioned clubs and businesses not located in the Towne Center or Eastport Market Center.

This is a rain or shine event. For more information, contact Carmen Cortez at 951-757-4901 or lakecortez@aol.com.
