Canyon Lake Chamber to host Golf Tournament, Ball Drop

The Canyon Lake Chamber will host its annual Golf Tournament and Ball Drop on Saturday, May 19 at the Canyon Lake golf course.

This year’s tournament has three flights: Open, Senior (60 years of age and older) and Jack & Jill (two women and two men). Registration is $90 per player before Apr. 20; $100 per player after Apr. 20. Canyon Lake annual golf course members pay only $65. Registration includes round of golf, golf cart fee and dinner. The cost to attend dinner only is $25.

Registration starts at 10 a.m.; Shotgun start at 12:00 p.m., followed by the Ball Drop, dinner, awards and opportunity drawing.

There are opportunities to participate in this fundraising event by sponsoring a tee, donating items for the opportunity drawing, and of course, playing. Corporate sponsorships are also available.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will go toward the Canyon Lake Jr. Golf program. To register or inquire about sponsorship, contact Alison Burrafato at 951-244-6124.

The chamber will host its 2nd annual Ball Drop following the tournament. Participants have a chance to win up to $5,000. Participants do not have to enter the golf tournament to participate and the winner need not be present to win.

Golf ball “numbers” can be purchased for $10 each at the chamber, Pack, Wrap and Post and Pro Golf Shop at the country club. The purchaser provides their contact information and receives one number per ball; not the actual golf ball.

Using a mechanical lift, the hopper filled with the numbered golf balls will be lifted and dropped all at once over a hole (cup) on the practice range. The purchaser of the numbered ball that lands in the bottom of the hole will receive half the money collected from the Ball Drop sales, up to $5,000. A limited number of balls are available.
