In Memoriam: Howard Woodring

Jan. 17, 1923 – Feb. 24, 2018

Howard Woodring, 95, passed away peacefully in Riverside, California. Born in Farmland, Indiana, to Floy and Callie Woodring, Howard was predeceased by his wife of 73 years, Martha Woodring, his brothers, Max and George, his sister, Halcyon, and his daughter-in-law, Raylene Woodring.

He proudly served in the Army Air Corps as a flight engineer during WWII, and then spent the remainder of his career as a glass mould maker for Overmyer Mould Co, Glass Containers, Inc. and then Ball Brothers, Inc., where he retired after 24 years of service in 1982.

Howard and Martha were proud charter members of Canyon Lake Community Church and spent many years teaching Sunday school, hosting bible study and serving the church in various other capacities. Howard served as an elder on the church council for 12 years.

Howard is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Beaufort (Ron), Nancy Lewis (David) and Brenda Crockett (David), his son, Jim Woodring, along with their families and spouses, including over 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as one great-great-grandchild.

Our family would like to thank Nancy Lewis for the loving care of her father for the past two and a half years.

We also thank the staffs of Pacific hospice and Nurse Next Door for their support and compassion in Howard’s last days.
