POA unveils new websites

The Canyon Lake POA recently redesigned its websites for the Property Owners Association, Canyon Lake Golf & Country Club and the Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar. A new website was created for Fiesta Day, one of Canyon Lake’s biggest annual events.

The redesigned Property Owners Association website can be viewed at canyonlakepoa.com. The website is designed to make it easier for members to communicate with the POA. It offers members more information, easier access to services and new online tools for an overall improved online experience.

The POA contracted with CivicPlus, a leader in local government websites with more than 2,500 clients, for the new website. CivicPlus offers a full range of tools that fit several of the POA’s needs both internally and externally. “For us, this is more than just a new website. It’s a full range of tools and services that will help us be more efficient and interact with our members,” said POA General Manager Eric Kazakoff.

The improved website has a “Notify Me” function that allows members to customize alerts they want to receive. “This new platform allows our members to take control of the news you receive from us and it pushes that news to you via the method of notification you select,” said Assistant General Manager Lynn Jensen. “This is a change from the old process where you had to search around the website for the news you cared about.”

The new website also allows members to create an account on the website to further customize their online experience. Each member’s personal account page can display the information they select, along with any forms or requests they have submitted.

Other features on the new website include an enhanced community calendar, fully functioning search engine within the site, an enhanced agenda center for POA meetings, and much more.

Features that will be coming soon with this new platform include online submittal forms for various departments, member submissions for community improvements, and a new mobile app to name a few. But it’s a work in progress. “If we’re doing our job right, people are going to see our website continue to improve over time,” said Eric. “It’s our job to not only build online tools that are impressive by today’s standards but that also transition into tomorrow’s.”

Per the Davis Stirling Act, which governs all homeowner associations, there is certain information that should not publicly accessible, such as meeting agendas and minutes or financial reports. Members who wish to access that information will need to have a member account.

The POA has transferred all users who created an account on the old website to this new website. New members may create an account by clicking the “Login” button in the top left corner of the website and POA staff will verify the account information within three business days.

In addition to the POA website, both the Canyon Lake Golf & Country Club and Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar also received redesigned websites with similar design and features. The new websites can be viewed at canyonlakecc.com and canyonlakelighthouse.com.

A brand new website was recently launched for Fiesta Day at canyonlakefiestaday.org. Visitors to the website will find all the latest Fiesta Day news, as well as vendor information and applications.
