Chamber announces 2018 Board of Directors

The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce announced its 2018 Board of Directors as follows: Matthew Svendsen, president; Barry Walker, first vice president; Jim Randle, past president; Jennie Ehrenkranz, treasurer; Debby Gagnon, secretary; Dolores Badillo, director; Mike Irvin, director; Jeanne O’Dell, director; Ria Riley, director.

“It’s my honor and privilege to accept this position and thank you for placing your trust and confidence in my abilities to assume the office of president, said Matt. “I am prepared to contribute along with the elected directors to build upon the successes of the past and to fulfill the chamber’s mission to support, promote and protect your interests and the wider community.”

The 2018 board members will assume their positions after they take the Oath of Office at the chamber’s Awards Gala and Installation of Officers Dinner on Feb. 24. Riverside County 1st District Supervisor Kevin Jeffries will administer the Oath of Office.

The chamber extends an invitation to all residents to its 22nd annual Awards Gala and Installation of Officers Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. This year’s theme is “Sail into Success.”

At this event, the Volunteer of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Youth of the Year, Organization of the Year and Business of the Year awards will be presented and the 2018 chamber officers will be installed.

Tickets are $45 and include salad, sides and choice of NY steak, chicken marsala, or seared salmon with bread. To purchase tickets, contact Alison Burrafato at 951-844-6124.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. The chamber is seeking prizes, such as gift certificates, event tickets and gift baskets, for its opportunity drawing. The donation deadline is Thursday, Feb. 15. Donations may be dropped off at the chamber office, 31658 Railroad Canyon Rd., or at Pack, Wrap and Post in the Canyon Lake Towne Center. Funds raised from the opportunity drawing help promote the chamber’s programs and events throughout the year.

In other chamber news, the chamber welcomes two new members: Canyon Cowboy Saloon and Ameri-Clean Temecula Valley.

The chambers will host its annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 19, at the Canyon Lake Country Club.

The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce is an association of businesses and individuals organized to encourage a strong local economy and quality of life by promoting and advancing the community, civic, cultural and educational development of the Canyon Lake area while providing a valuable forum for issues affecting local commerce and the general well-being of the community.
