CLMS competition cheer team wins first again

Canyon Lake Middle School competition cheer team competed at the CHEERpros California State Cheer and Dance Championships on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California, where they took first place and earned the title of Junior Show Cheer State Champions. The team also earned the Grand Champions title after out-scoring several high school teams in the morning session. They were awarded a trophy, two championship banners, medals and shirts.

The win earned the competition cheer team a full paid bid to the Best of the West Invitation on Feb 10.

The team, coached by Tammy Howard, took first place overall at the USA Brea Olinda Regional at Brea High School on Dec. 16. The win qualified them to compete at the USA Jr. Nationals on Feb. 25 in Anaheim, California.
