Women’s Golf hosts Christmas Tournament

The Women’s Golf Club held its annual Christmas Tournament and Installation of 2018 Officers on Dec. 12. The tournament was followed by lunch and awards.

Tournament Chair Ura Furry and Tuesday Tournament Chair Lorrie Sjomeling thanked President Darlene Cortez for her year of service and presented her with a golf bag. Lorrie also presented awards to Inga Loy for Overall Low Gross for the year and Kathy Voss for Overall Low Net for the year.

Club members were asked to bring a toy for the Mattress Firm Toys for Kids Foster Program. “I was very pleased and overwhelmed by all the toys we received.” said Tournament Chair Ura Furry. “Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for participationing and the toys.”

The club thanked Golf Pro Pat Kemball, Assistant Brian Carlson, Pat’s staff and the country club staff for everything they’ve helped with for the tournament and all year long.

The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club was established in 1971 and is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. The club meets on Tuesdays in the Magnolia Room at the country club.

Players must check in before 7:30 a.m.; start time is 8 a.m. In the spring and summer, the club meets at 7 a.m.
