Wegs host special visitor

Alexa Manning visits with Santa. Photo by Pat Van Dyke

Santa arrived at the home of Hans and Linda Weg on Sunday, Dec. 10, and spent several hours visiting with parents and children who stopped by to give their greetings and make some special requests.

While visiting Canyon Lake, Santa took the time to see the Golf Cart Parade. When asked for his reaction to the parade, he said, “It was the best I have ever seen!”

Hans and Linda Weg report that Santa has been stopping at their home for the past nine years to spend time with the children of Canyon Lake. Several children who stopped by this year remembered visiting Santa at the Weg home previously. Teenager Alexa Manning has visited Santa at the Weg home every year. Four-month-old Maverick, son of Larry and Autumn Reed, visited with Santa for the first time.

When Hans Weg was asked why he invited Santa to visit, he remarked, “Because I enjoy it so much.” Hans first greeted Santa when he was a teenager and renewed that tradition when he moved to Canyon Lake.

Santa will be returning to Canyon Lake on Saturday, Dec. 16, to visit with more children. He will be on his “Hot Rod Throne” from 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the home of Linda and Hans at 24074 Canyon Lake Dr. North. Visitors will be treated to photos with Santa, holiday music, falling snow and candy canes.
