More than 500 guests attend Holiday Home Tour

The Canyon Lake Woman’s Club held its annual Holiday Home Tour on Sunday, a community event that dates back to 1973. More than 500 tickets were sold, making this one of the most successful Holiday Home Tours to date.

Approximately 3,000 tickets were sold for the Christmas Tree opportunity drawing. The 11 themed Christmas trees, valued at a minimum of $200 each, were decorated and donated by members of the Woman’s Club.

“We’ll probably net about $10,000 this year, which is about $3,000 more than last year,” said Home Tour Co-chair Jan May.

The tour started at the lodge at 9 a.m. where guests were treated to complimentary cookies and coffee and could enjoy shopping at the 24 vendor booths or sipping on the signature drink Mint Julep. Maps were also handed out for the self-guided tour.

This year, residents, Ron and Leigh Martel, Don and Patty Bonelli, John and Sheryl Lewis, Don and Pat Hunter and Bruce and Ann Vazzana opened their homes for residents and their guests to tour.

The next event the Woman’s Club will be hosting is a cooking class on February 24. The class will be followed by the Woman’s Club’s biggest event of the year, the annual Fashion Show on April 27. There will be four pre-parties leading up to the show. This year’s theme is the Sensational 70s. Details on both events will be posted at a later date.
