Support local businesses, shop big on Small Business Saturday

Small business Saturday is an annual American shopping tradition held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Small Business Saturday is counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday which feature big box retailers and e-commerce stores respectively. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.

Founded by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday is dedicated to supporting small businesses and celebrating communities across the country.

Small businesses play a key role in helping communities thrive. Shopping at them on Small Business Saturday, and throughout the year, can help make a positive impact on the community.

The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce encourages residents to get out and shop at small local businesses tomorrow. While some shops in the Towne Center will be offering specials on Small Business Saturday, its more about those small businesses being special and what they bring to the community. Whether they are a family business, local shop, service business or wholesaler, Small Business Saturday is about them and supporting a small business owner’s dream.

Canyon Lake Mattress and More, Bombshells, Just for Paws, Pack, Wrap & Post and The Cup Above are just a few of the Canyon Lake businesses offering specials on Saturday.

The Sports Stop Pub & Grill is offering $5 off a purchase of $30 or more. The special excludes alcohol and is not valid with any other offer or promotion.

Canyon Lake Mattress and More is offering free local delivery, mattress haul away, mattress protector, sheet set and candle gift pack with the purchase of a bed set, excluding Regal.

The Golf Pro Shop at the country club is offering 25 percent off all men’s and ladies apparel, 15 percent off golf bags and 10 percent off select golf clubs.

Bombshells is offering a buy one get one half off on merchandise in the store special. Discount applies to the lower priced item.

Just for Paws pet grooming is offering $5 off any service of $50 or more and half off the price of a toenail trim.

Pack, Wrap & Post is offering two mailbox rental specials; purchase six months and get the first month free and 10 percent off paid in full annual box rental.

The Cup Above is offering 15 percent off ceramics.

Studio K Tanning will have new inventory out on Saturday. Shoppers will receive one entry for every purchase for a drawing for a free month of tanning.
