Tennis Club

The Tennis Club is hosting its Turkey Trot Mixer on Saturday, Nov, 18, at 9 a.m. To reserve a spot, contact Kathy Valdez by text at 760-413-7817 or by email at katrey@yahoo.com.

The Tennis Club invites residents to come out for social play on Mondays and Fridays at 9 a.m. Social play is a free activity open to all levels of players and is a great way to meet other players without committing to a schedule. Men’s Softball

The club is for men over the age of 18 who enjoy playing softball. Games are played on Wednesday evenings at Gault Field. For more information, call Chad Russell at 951-265-8389.

Yacht Club

Yacht Club meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge; cocktail hour is 5 p.m., dinner is 6 p.m., meeting begins at 7 p.m. Dinner is $15. Boat ownership is not a criterion for membership. Annual membership is $15.

Lions Club

The club meets monthly on the second Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Sunset Room at the lodge. The club was formed January 23, 1975, and was one of the first clubs in Canyon Lake. The club is part of the largest service organization in the world. The members collect used eyeglasses to aid in the organization’s goal to help those with sight problems. Lioness Club

Monthly meetings are held on the third Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the lodge.  For more information, contact Mary Craton at 915-244-7859.

Tuesday Work Group

The Tuesday Work Group (TWG) consists of more than 40 volunteers dedicated to mostly improving the golf course. TWG meets every Tuesday at 7 a.m. in the golf maintenance yard during the months of October through June.

Committee Board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. in Magnolia Room at the country club. TWG is always looking for a helping hand. “We’ll have coffee and donuts waiting for you,” says a spokesperson. For more information, call David Nickel at 951-244-9827.

Car Club

The Car Club holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone owning a pre-1973 vehicle is welcomed. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Bosom Buddies

Chair Volleyball

The Chair Volleyball Club is for seniors 50 years of age and older. The club promotes fitness fun and the spirit of competition through organized playing of Chair Volleyball. The game is played using a beach ball and a 5 ft. net while players are seated. The club participates in the Senior Olympics.

Mexican Train Players

Mexican Train Players meet Fridays at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.  For more information, call 951-244-4241.

Woman’s Club

The Woman’s Club meets monthly on the third Wednesday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Vendor hour is from 9 to 10 a.m.; meeting begins at 10 a.m. Lunch is $14. K-9 Club

K-9 Club members generally meet daily in the evening to socialize at the East Port Park Dog Park.

Wakeboard Club

The Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club caters to everyone from beginner to the most advanced rider. The club promotes the sport by sponsoring Learn to Wakeboard Day events. For more information, visit the club’s website at canyonlakewake.com.

ShowCal Skiers

ShowCal Skiers is a sanctioned club and California’s first and only show ski club. Skills training is taught for all aspects of the ski show, including audio/visual, announcing/hosting, drivers/power team, safety coordinators and equipment.

Ski disciplines include two skis, slalom, barefoot, trick, shoe ski, swivel, ballet, jump, doubles, trios, adagio, human pyramids, ATB, kneeboard, disc, wakeboard, wakeskate, foil, free-style and hot dogging. Members incorporate all types of performance artistry in their water-ski shows. Pickleball Club

The Pickleball Club’s Social Play days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8 to 10 a.m. and 6 to 10 p.m.; Open Play days are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 10 a.m. with one court being reserved for beginners and clinics. Street Carts of Canyon Lake

The Street Carts of Canyon Lake is a golf cart club that holds community events to raise funds for its charitable work. The club hosts the annual Golf Cart Parade, community Poker Run and Golf Cart Drive-in Movie Night. Club membership is $25 for a lifetime membership.

Choraleers

The Choraleers have been busy working on their upcoming Christmas concert “JOY!” The concert will be held one week after the boat Parade of Lights on Dec. 12. The concert begins at 2 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Tickets can be purchased at the POA office, at Brown Paper tickets and from any member of the Choraleers, The Choraleers is a vocal group of men and women who enjoy singing in a choral group that performs spring and fall concerts, including combinations of selected singers and solo performances. Membership includes more than 35 members as well as a director and pianist. Membership is open to residents and those in nearby communities. Pinochle Club

The Pinochle Club is seeking new players to join them on Thursday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. at the senior center. Beginners are welcomed. For more information, contact Marlys Shilling at 951-244-4241.

Family Matters Club

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community and raise funds for philanthropic donations. Events are free or low-cost to attend. CLAMS is open to all men in Canyon Lake. Its strong membership has allowed it to continue its philanthropic work and continue giving scholarships to deserving high school seniors. For more information, contact Membership Chairman Bud Hanner at 951-244-6315.

JWC

The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club is a non-profit philanthropic club that holds fundraising events throughout the year to help fund scholarship programs, help local families in need, donate to park improvements in Canyon Lake and more. CLAA

The Canyon Lake Art Association meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the senior center. For more information, visit canyonlakeartassociation.com.

Travel Club

Travel Club functions are open to Canyon Lakers who would like to attend even if they are not members of the club. The club’s annual Christmas Dinner Dance is set for Dec. 1 at the lodge. The theme is Silver Bells. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The cost is $45 for members; $50 non-members. The reservation deadline is Monday, Nov. 20.

A Huntington Harbor “Cruise of Lights” and dinner is planned for Dec. 14. The festive holiday cruise is a narrated tour through the waterways of Huntington Harbor. Attendees will enjoy the beauty of thousands of lights and animated displays of brightly decorated homes. Dinner at Buca di Beppo will follow the cruise. The cost for members is $85: $90 for non-members. The reservation deadline is Nov. 30.

A viewing of the Rose Parade floats in Pasadena with lunch at Westfield Santa Anita Mall is planned for Jan. 2. The cost is $46 for members; $51 for non-members. The reservation deadline for this day-trip is Nov. 22.

A multi-day cruise to Hawaii is planned for Mar. 4 through Mar. 19. There is no airfare; boarding and disembark is in San Pedro. Visit the clubs website at canyonlaketravelclub.com for more information.

Roadrunners RV Club

Any resident who owns an RV is welcome to join the club. The club holds dinner meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at the lodge. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., dinner is served at 6 p.m. In addition to monthly dinner meetings, the club takes six to eight trips per year. Membership is $10 per couple per year.
