Letter: Concerts at the Lodge

Editor, The Friday Flyer

As Producer of the Canyon Lake POA’s “Concerts at the Lodge” I would like to personally thank the residents of our little bit of paradise for supporting these shows. Where else can you have such an awesome concert experience than right here in Canyon Lake? You drive less than five minutes to get to the venue, park for free, have dinner in the same building if you choose and see a national recording artist that you have been listening to for years in an intimate up front and personal performance.

“Concerts at the Lodge” started with a conversation with then CLPOA General Manager Chris Mitchell back in 2015 who felt it was long overdue for Canyon Lake to host real recording acts. Those meetings turned into concerts with Johnny Lee, David Cook, Hal Ketchum, Collin Raye, Suzy Bogguss, Darryl Worley, Classic Rock All Stars, Berlin and Rick Derringer. Our new GM Eric Kazakoff is equally enthusiastic about these shows and I have booked an eclectic line-up for next year with Warren Hill, The Surf City All Stars, Keith Anderson and Berlin.

My wife Anneda and I are passionate about living in Canyon Lake and enjoy providing the artists with all the perks of lake life during their short stay so that they will share their experience with other potential acts. We have met so many of you that attend these concerts and it is humbling to see residents get excited and even emotional when seeing a real artist that they love so much. I am grateful to Eric and the POA staff, especially Carrie Pratt and Samantha Bell, for making my job easy. They have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Thanks again Canyon Lake for supporting the POA’s “Concerts at the Lodge.”
