Guild to host ‘Beach Boys Christmas Special’

Tribute band “Catch a Wave,” returns to Canyon Lake to perform “Beach Boys Christmas special.” Their set will include iconic feel-good tunes about surfing, hot cars and girls. “Surfin’ USA,” “California Girls” and “Fun, Fun, Fun,” will be some of the classic tunes featured. As this is a holiday event, the band will also perform festive favorites, such as “Little Saint Nick,” “Blue Christmas” and “Man with All the Toys.”

“As with all The Guild’s events, this will be so much fun! We thank Canyon Lake for another record-breaking year,” said Fine Arts Guild President Travis Montgomery.

The Fine Arts Guild has announced its 2018 Concert Program. Membership applications are now available on its website at canyonlakeguild.com. Members can enjoy preferred seating and an exclusive hosted reception before each event that includes generous appetizers and adult beverages, courtesy of The Guild.

First up in the Fine Arts Guild’s concert series will be a Mar. 3 tribute to “Billy Joel” by Mike Santoro. Mike is a native New Yorker whose electrifying band will sing smash hits such as “Just the Way You Are,” “Uptown Girl” and “Piano Man.”

The second concert is set for May 19. “Bee Gees” tribute band “Bee Gees Gold” aims to provide the ultimate experience of seeing the “Bee Gees” in their prime with unique falsettos that made them legends. The performance will include such hits as “Staying Alive,” “You Should Be Dancing” and “I Started a Joke.”

The Fines Arts Guild will host “Margaritaville by the Lake!” July 21. This will be another free summer concert at Holiday Harbor Park. “Gary Seiler and The CoastRiders” will perform a tribute to Parrot Heads with four-part Tropical Rock (TropRock) harmonies influenced by Jimmy Buffett, the Beach Boys and the Eagles. Last summer, over 1,000 people attended the free concert in the park.

On Aug. 25, “Kenny Cetera’s Chicago Experience” brings a horn section to classic rock music. The seven-piece band will play hits such as “Saturday in the Park,” “Make Me Smile” and “If You Leave Me Now.” Kenny sang on “Chicago 17,” the band’s all-time grossing album.

Rod Steward fans will want to mark their calendars for Nov. 3. For over 25 years, “Gregory Wolfe as Rod Stewart” has gained notoriety for his uncanny vocals and striking resemblance to the rock legend. Fans can expect to hear “Maggie May,” “Hot Legs” and “Do You Think I’m Sexy.” Gregory said the best part about performing is delivering the on-stage energy of the iconic superstar.

Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild Program Director Ron Martel said, “People come to the Guild events for music they know and love. It’s simply enjoyable and fun!” The Fine Arts Guild has recently featured tribute artists for “The Eagles,” “The Beatles,” “Rolling Stones,” “Willie Nelson,” “Elton John,” “Creedence Clearwater Revival,” “Fleetwood Mac,” “Santana” and “The Beach Boys” (Dec. 2).
