Scavenger hunt ends with surprise marriage proposal

Canyon Laker Billy Spencer asked his girlfriend Lacy Lancisero to marry him in a surprise proposal at Diamond Point Park on Friday.  “It was on one of our dates when Lacy and I were standing under the stars on the dock at Diamond Point Park that I realized this is the girl I want to marry and spend the rest of my life with,” explained Billy. “I couldn’t think of a better place to embrace that love than on the same dock.”

Billy’s surprise proposal involved a fake scavenger hunt and the help of his friends who played along. “Lacy didn’t suspect a thing,” said Billy.

Billy, who was born and raised in Orange County, moved to Canyon Lake four years ago. Lacy, also from Orange County, will be moving to Canyon Lake after the couple marries next summer. They are considering Maui as a wedding location.

“I thank God that he placed us together and the love we share for each other,” said the groom-to-be. “It’s a blessing for our kids and I look forward to saying ‘Spencer, party of five’ when we go out to dinner.”
