Ashlyn Dowell named Student of the Month

Canyon Lake resident Ashlyn Dowell, a senior at Temescal Canyon High School, is among seven Lake Elsinore Unified School District students who were recognized by the Student of the Month Program and honored on Sept. 19.

Seventeen-year-old Ashlyn has a 4.2 GPA and is involved in campus life. The student athlete competes on Temescal High’s girls water polo and varsity swim teams and serves as the historian for ASB and president of Interact Club.

She is also a member of the National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation and Parent Teacher Student Association. In her spare time she enjoys singing and playing the guitar.

Ashlyn is the daughter of Stephanie and Daren Dowell. The couple moved to Canyon Lake in 1997. Ashlyn is a triplet who born and raised in Canyon Lake.

After graduation, Ashlyn’s college plan is to attend a four-year university as a Biology major.
