For the twelfth year in a row, the lodge grounds will be the site of the annual Car Show. The show, hosted by the Canyon Lake Car Club, will take place Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Car Show is considered the second largest annual event in Canyon Lake.
The free event will feature approximately 300 pre-1977 classic and custom cars and trucks, more than 20 vendor booths, awards, music by High Energy Sounds and a 50/50 opportunity drawing. The lodge will be open for lunch and breakfast. The outside bars will be offering Car Show drink specials.
A Car Cruise around the lake (route to be determined) will take place following the awards presentation, between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. Residents are invited to line the streets along the cruise route and cheer on the cars as they drive by.
A post Car Show Dinner Dance with a Sock Hop theme will take place at 6 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room. Tickets are $25 and includes appetizers, dinner, dessert and live entertainment. Pre-paid tickets are required. For tickets, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. A few tickets may be available at the Information Booth the day of the Car Show.
Owners of pre-1977 cars and trucks are invited to participate in the Car Show. Registration is $25 and includes T-shirt, reusable goodie bag and magnetic dash plaque. Early registration is recommended. More than 25 trophies will be presented. Cars will be judged by peers, industry professionals, POA staff and City staff. The Car Show registration form can be downloaded at canyonlakecarclub.com.
All proceeds from the Car Show are returned to the community through donations to resident needs, scholarships to local high schools, other Canyon lake clubs and committees, community park improvements, Canyon Lake fire station, Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee, Veterans Committee and veteran charities, to name a few.
