Celebrate summer’s end at Maui Monday

Taco Tuesday is over but there is one more opportunity to gather as a community at Sunset Beach to enjoy the lake, ambiance of a summer sunset and camaraderie of neighbors.

Break out your favorite Hawaiian shirt or hula skirt and celebrate the end of summer Hawaiian style at the 5th annual Maui Monday on Labor Day, Sept. 4, from 5 to 9 p.m.

This event, featuring food, fun and entertainment for the whole family, is sponsored by the POA and presented by the Lighthouse Restaurant, Good Time Entertainment and the Polynesian Entertainment Group.

The Lighthouse Restaurant will feature an island-accented menu. The snack bar in the Sunset Beach Room will also be open.

DJ Mike Shroyer of Good Time Entertainment will provide the beach tunes along with dance, hula hoop and limbo contests.

ABC Bounce will provide jumpers for the kids; wristbands are $4.

The POA will provide Leis free of charge. Supplies are limited.

Once the sun goes down, everyone will be invited to gather on the beach to watch hula dancers, Samoan drummers and fire dances performed by the professional Polynesian Entertainment Group. Children and adults are invited to join in the dancing. It’s time to make the most of this year’s summer end.
