Mommy n Me

The Canyon Lake Mommy n Me Club is kicking off its semester with registration and Kick Off Party on Friday, Aug. 25, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Holiday Harbor Park. The Canyon Lake Mommy n Me Club is for moms and pre-school aged children (18 months to five yeas old) to meet up for local play dates in and around the community. The club meets every other Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. The semester runs from Sept. 8 to Dec 15.

Registration is $60, $50 for each sibling, and covers all snacks and planned events for the semester. Spots are limited. Moms who live in surrounding communities are welcome to join but will need to contact the club before registration day to arrange gate call-in.

Pickleball Club

The Pickleball Club is hosting a Moon Tournament on Aug. 19. Check-in is 6:30 p.m. The format is round robin mixed couple doubles. To sign up, contact Terry Loy at 951-244-6864 or loyilty@gmail.com.

The club’s Social Play days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8 to 10 a.m. and 6 to 10 p.m.; open play is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 10 a.m. with one court being reserved for beginners and clinics. Cub Scouts

Cub Scout Pack 346 will be kicking off its scouting year on Aug. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lamb’s Fellowship, 21901 Railroad Canyon Rd., Lake Elsinore, 92532. Those interested in joining should attend the meeting. Pack 346 serves Canyon Lake, Canyon Hills and Tuscany Hills and is for boys in kindergarten through 5th grades. Work Group

The Tuesday Work Group (TWG) consists of more than 40 volunteers dedicated to mostly improving the golf course. TWG meets every Tuesday at 7 a.m. in the golf maintenance yard during the months of October through June. Committee Board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. in Magnolia Room at the country club. There are no meetings from July to September. Little League

Registration for Fall Ball ends Aug 31. Fall Ball, for ages four to 10, runs from September through November. Registration is taken online at clllca.com. Registration is $65 and includes a hat and shirt. Fall Ball coaches are being sought. Those interested should attend the next league board meeting on Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. The Canyon Lake Little League serves Canyon Lake and Canyon Hills. Bible Fellowship Club

Monthly club meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Activity Building at East Port Park. Meetings are open to the community. The meetings open with prayer and praise music followed by exploring and diving into God’s word, the Holy Bible, refreshments and fellowship. For more information, call Steve Martin at 951-757-6146.

Tennis Club

The Tennis Club invites residents to come out for social play on Mondays and Fridays at 8 a.m. and Fridays at 6:30 p.m. Participants are asked to bring an appetizer to share.

Social play is a free activity open to all levels of players and is a great way to meet other players without committing to a schedule. Equestrian Club

JWC

The Jr. Women’s Club (JWC) is a non-profit philanthropic club that holds fundraising events throughout the year to help fund scholarships, help local families in need, donate to park improvements in Canyon Lake and more. CLAMS

The CLAMS organization has been in existence for 43 years. The club is open to all Canyon Lake men. Currently 94 members belong; this strong membership allows the CLAMS to continue its philanthropic work and give scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Yacht Club

Yacht Club meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge; cocktail hour is 5 p.m., dinner is 6 p.m., meeting begins at 7 p.m. Annual membership is $15. Boat ownership is not a criterion for membership.

Bosom Buddies

Water Ski Club

The Ski Club is comprised of water skiers of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced. The club hosts several ski competitions and community events, including Breakfast with Santa, Polar Bear Day, Learn to Ski Day and the Fiesta Day Ski Show. The club began in 1970 and is the largest 3-event USA Water Ski sanctioned club in the United States. Roadrunners Club

Any resident who owns an RV is welcome to join the Roadrunners RV Club. The club holds dinner meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., dinner is served at 6 p.m. In addition to monthly dinner meetings, the club takes six to eight trips per year. Car Club

The Car Club holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone owning a pre-1973 vehicle is welcomed. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting members learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. Men’s Softball

Twirlers Square Dance Club

Dances are held every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and once a month on the second Sunday from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the Kay Ceniceros Senior Center in Menifee. For more information, call Jackie Brown at 951-694-3650.

Pinochle Club

Choraleers

The Choraleers is a vocal group of men and women who enjoy singing in a choral group that performs spring and fall concerts, including combinations of selected singers and solo performances. Membership includes more than 35 members as well as a director and pianist. Membership is open to residents and those in nearby communities. Torah Club

Bassmasters Club

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Residents who like to fish and want to improve their skills in a low stress, friendly competitive environment are welcome to join. Street Carts of Canyon Lake

The Street Carts of Canyon Lake is a golf cart club that holds community events to raise funds for its charitable work. The club hosts the annual Golf Cart Parade and the community Poker Run. Lifetime membership is $25. For more information, call Mike Shroyer at 951-244-9446.

Mexican Train Players

The Mexican Train Players meet on Fridays at 12:30 p.m. at the senior center. Beginners are welcomed. For more information, call Marlys Shilling at 951-244-4241.

Lions Club

The club meets monthly on the second Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Sunset Room at the lodge. The club was formed January 23, 1975 and was one of the first clubs in Canyon Lake. The club is part of the largest service organization in the world. The members collect used eyeglasses to aid in the organization’s goal to help those with sight problems. Home Owners Club

Organized in 1972, the club promotes and protects the best interest of Canyon Lake home and property owners. The group sponsors community events, including the Home Decorating Contest and Meet the Candidates. For more information, call LaRue McNamara at 951-244-6470.

Community Theatre Group

The club’s purpose is to provide the community with access to the performing arts by providing a platform and showcase for local talent. The club engages and entertains the community by providing theatre experience for all ages, from all youth productions to its musicals under the stars. Wakeboard Club

The Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club caters to everyone from beginner to the most advanced rider. The club promotes the sport by sponsoring Learn to Wakeboard Day events. For more information, visit the club’s website at canyonlakewake.com.

Fitness and Triathlon Club

The club promotes healthy lifestyles through swimming, cycling, running and other cross training activities. The club hosts the annual Tour de Canyon Lake and Paddle & Pedal Regatta events. CLAA

While the Canyon Lake Art Association monthly meetings are dark through the summer, the Monday Night Ad-Hoc Artists will continue to meet on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at the senior center. All are welcome to join these art-making evenings; bring your own supplies and artwork to make or simply stop by to see what the artists are making. Tuesday monthly meetings will resume on fourth Tuesday in September at 6:30 p.m. at the senior center. Lioness Club

ShowCal Skiers

ShowCal Skiers is a sanctioned club and California’s first and only water-ski show team. Skills training is taught for all aspects of the ski show, including audio/visual, announcing/hosting, drivers/power team, safety coordinators and equipment.

Ski disciplines include two skis, slalom, barefoot, trick, shoe ski, swivel, ballet, jump, doubles, trios, adagio, human pyramids, ATB, kneeboard, disc, wakeboard, wakeskate, foil, free-style and hot dogging. Members incorporate all types of performance artistry in their water-ski shows. CLAWS

All Canyon Lake women are invited to attend the Canyon Lake Association of Women (CLAWS) group bunco at 3 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Woman’s Club

The Woman’s Club meets in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge on the third Wednesday of every month from September through June. Family Matters Club

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community and raise funds for philanthropic donations. Events are free or low-cost to attend. K-9 Club

K-9 Club members generally meet daily in the evening to socialize at the East Port Park Dog Park.

Chair Volleyball

The Chair Volleyball Club is for seniors 50 years of age and older. The club promotes fitness fun and the spirit of competition through organized playing of Chair Volleyball. The game is played using a beach ball and a 5 ft. net while players are seated. The club participates in the Senior Olympics. Kids Club

The Kids Club is starting back up again on Aug. 22. The Canyon Lake Kids Club is a program in which young children and their parents or grandparents enjoy a morning of crafts, music, exercise, games, sports and a snack for just $2 per session. Those who purchase a 10-class punch card will receive two classes free. Punch cards can be purchased in class. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Pool View Room at the lodge. For more information, visit the club’s Facebook page.

Travel Club

Club functions are open to all Canyon Lakers, including those who are not members of the club. The Club will host Ole’ Ole’ Ole’, an end of summer dinner and dance, on Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. at the pool. The club will celebrate Oktoberfest in Big Bear on October 22 with a historical bus tour of Big Bear Lake followed by an authentic German lunch and entertainment at Festival Hall. The cost of this all-inclusive trip is $71 for members; $76 for non-members and guests. On Jan. 2, members will travel to Pasadena for a viewing of the Rose Parade Floats.
