CL Car Club members win at Big Bear Car Show

Canyon Lake Car Club had 12 entries in the 28th Annual Antique Car Club’s Fun Run in Big Bear. The event ran from Aug. 11 through Aug. 15 and featured approximately 500 cars, roadsters, classics antiques and hot rods lining the streets of Big Bear Village and a Fun Run drive around the lake.

Canyon Lake Car Club members won three awards. Dave Deboe’s 1937 For Cabriolet won Best of Show, Joe Landin’s 1966 Oldsmobile 442 won Top 20 and Gil Losi’s 1956 Plymouth won Best Paint.

On the first night, approximately 30 members of the Canyon Lake Club enjoyed a pot-luck and barbecue. Member Lee Norris did the barbecuing for the group.

The Canyon Lake Car Club holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone owning a pre-1973 vehicle is welcomed. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting members learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences.
