Woman’s Club installs new Board of Directors

The Canyon Lake Woman’s Club installed its new 2017/2018 officers at its last meeting before breaking for the summer.

The new president is Sue Collins. Other board members include: Alexis Prince and Shawna Bowen, programs; Kathy Ray, membership; Terri Ireland, ways and means; Tammy Revard, philanthropy; Lyne Trampush, secretary; Johnnie D’Alessandro, treasurer; Lyne Hall, publicity; Carmen Cortes, newsletter; Jan May, parliamentarian.

The Woman’s Club was founded in 1972. It’s a non-profit, non-partisan, philanthropic organization dedicated to the enrichment of the community and helping those less fortunate.

Its mission is to provide a safe gathering place for the women of Canyon Lake, to raise funds to help individuals and charities in need and to provide scholarships to local student for the continuation of their education after high school.

This year, the club awarded $16,000 to local organizations and $15,000 in the form of scholarships to Canyon Lake students.

The club has an approximate membership of 200. General meetings are held monthly on the third Wednesday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge from September through June. Vendor hour is from 9 to 10 a.m.; meeting begins at 10 a.m.
