Kids invited to audition for Willy Wonka Jr. production

Last weekend kids from Canyon Lake and surrounding communities came out to audition for a part in the Canyon Lake Community Theatre’s all kids summer production of “Willy Wonka Jr.” The show requires an enormous cast and contains many speaking and featured roles.

It’s not too late to sign up to be a part of this annual tradition that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

If you missed the audition but would still like to be part of the production, attend the first all cast meeting in the Pool View Room at the Lodge on June 21 at 7 p.m.

Producer Jaimie Woodward said, “We can find an amazing part for your child right then and there.”

There is a membership fee of $15 and production fees are $150, which includes the use of a costume, a cast party and a show T-shirt.

The show will be performed July 28 through July 30 in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge.

The delicious adventures experienced by Charlie Bucket on his visit to Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory will light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale.

Featuring the songs from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder in addition to a host of fun new songs, Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr. is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone’s sweet tooth.

“This is an event you won’t want to miss,” said Jaimie.
