Jay Cregeen leaves Securitas, Canyon Lake

Community Patrol Securitas Account Manager Jay Cregeen left his position in Canyon Lake on June 2. Jay held the position since 2014. According to POA Senior Manager of Member Services Cory Gorham, Jay left to seek a full-time position in the emergency medical service field.

The position is being temporally filled by Interim Account Manager Nichole Durbin. Nicole has been the lieutenant in charge of the day-to-day operations for the past four years. She’s been working in Canyon Lake for the past 14 years. Nicole transitioned from Barton to Securitas when Securitas replaced Barton as Canyon Lake’s Community Patrol in 2013.

The POA contracts Securitas to provide Community Patrol services for the community of Canyon Lake. Their responsibilities include: Community Patrol and Marine Patrol, gate access control and enforcement of POA rules and regulations.

Community Patrol assists with the following non-emergency incidents: loud noise complaints, barking and loose dogs, speeding vehicles, traffic sign violations, vehicle accidents, parking violations, motorcycle riding in the community, golf carts violations, vandalism and illegal fishing.

Marine Patrol assists with boat safety inspections, boat distress assistance and enforcing POA lake rules.

In February, the POA put out a Request for Proposal for Community Patrol Services. Securitas was invited to bid as well. “Twelve companies responded to the request,” said Cory. “The board is in the process of reviewing the companies.”
