Car Club members earn awards at Big Barn Car Show

More than 100 classic cars entered the fifth annual Big Barn Car Show at Motte Historical Car Museum in Menifee on April 29. Several members of the Canyon Lake Car Club earned top awards at the show.

Dave Deboe’s 1937 Ford Cabriolet earned him the Best of Show award, Howard Smith’s 1937 Ford Pickup nabbed him the Specialty award and Pete Delia, Judy Miller and Mark Bann each earned a Top Three award for their classic cars.

The next car show club members will be participating in is the Lamb’s Fellowship third annual Car and Motorcycle Show on May 20 at Lamb’s Fellowship, 21901 Railroad Canyon Rd. The event will feature classic cars, motorcycles, vendors, food trucks, live music and jumpers for kids. General admission and parking are free.

On June 10, members will be participating in the Rods and Rails Car and Motorcycle Show in Perris. This family oriented event will offer some fun for everyone, including vendors, festival foods, exhibit booths and children’s activities.

The annual event has grown enormously in recent years and has become of the city’s signature events. General admission and parking are free.

The Canyon Lake Car Club holds meetings on the first Thursday of each month in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone owning a pre-1973 vehicle is welcomed.

Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting members learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. Finger foods are served and a 50/50 drawing rounds out the evening.
