All ages invited to learn how to ride a wakeboard

The Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club is hosting a Learn to Ride Day, tomorrow, May 13, at 9 a.m. at the north ski area. The cost is $15 per person.

Club members will be on hand to provide training for any level of rider. With the help from sponsors, the club provides boats and equipment for the day.

Other Learn to Ride Days are scheduled for September 9 and October 14.

The club will be hosting wakeboard tournaments at the north ski area on May 14, September 10 and October 15. Registration begins at 8 am. Riding begins promptly at 9 a.m. There will be no entries accepted after 9 a.m.

There are divisions for those just beginning to ride, those riding to gain skills and confidence and those who may be competing on the pro tour.

Tournament cost is $30 per division entered. Entering multiple divisions is permitted.

All competitors must have a WWA membership. Annual WWA membership is $70. Prizes wil be awarded for first, second and third places. Points will be awarded in all of the divisions for the overall series championship.
