Cub Scouts receive Arrow of Light award

On Sunday, April 23, four Scouts from Pack 346, also known by their patrol name, “Banana Bandits,” received their Arrow of Light award and bridged over to Boy Scouts. The Arrow of Light is the highest award a Cub Scout can earn and the only patch from Cub Scouts that can be worn on a Boy Scout uniform.

A number of Boy Scouts from the Order of the Arrow put on a traditional Arrow of Light ceremony. The scouts who participated in the ceremony were Bladen Hartley, five years in Cub Scouts; Drake Snyder, three years in Cub Scouts; Zackary Zander, five years in Cub Scouts; and Zane Zander three years in Cub Scouts.

The Scouts leave the pack with fond memories of Eerie Emerson, Pinewood Derby and numerous campouts, but mostly the memories of the friendships formed with each other and between their families during the last three to five years.

Their past Den Leaders, Brian and Sunshine Hartley, and current Den Leader, Bill Zander, look forward to watching them journey on together towards the Eagle Scout. All four Scouts will be continuing on together in Boy Scouts in Troop 2011.
