CLAA to hold Art Show Sunday at country club

The Canyon Lake Art Association (CLAA) will hold its annual Spring Art Show on Sunday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Canyon Lake Country Club. Entry to the show is free and open to the public.

The art show is the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year. It will feature the works of many talented local artists specializing in painting, drawing, digital art, photography and more. The event will also feature art for sale, silent auction and raffle baskets.

Therese Daniels, artist and author of Very Venice, will create live portrait drawings for a $5 donation to CLAA.

The winners of the student art contest will be honored at 1 p.m. The first place winner will receive a cash prize of $150, second place will receive $100 and third place will receive $50.

The Canyon Lake Art Association has been supporting education, appreciation and participation in the arts since 1976. The club meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the senior center. Residents are invited to network, make and share artwork and attend monthly meetings and other yearly events. Membership is open to individuals 18 years of age and older, but all are welcome to attend and bring their art to share. For more information, visit canyonlakeartassociation.com.
