TCHS Winter Color Guard earns silver medal

Temescal Canyon High School (TCHS) Winter Color Guard competed in the Winter Guard Association of Southern California (WGASC) competition on April 22 at Westminster High School in Westminster, California. TCHS had a silver medal finish in round three of the Scholastic AAA (SAAA) class. They competed against nine other teams in their class, and in a higher level of competition than last year.

TCHS Winter Color Guard is led by Color Guard Instructor Arturo Castro and Color Guard Assistant Instructor Allison Ryan. The program is directed by Band Director Michael Donahue. There are a total of 18 students in the program, two of which are Canyon Lake residents; Alexis Zander and Bailee Shields. Sequoia Arvelo serves as the captain.

A parent orientation meeting will be held at TCHS on May 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. for parents of students who wish to participate in color guard and marching band for the 2017-2018 season. For more information, contact Lisa Zander at 951-443-7092.
