Tour de Canyon Lake set to roll out April 23

Bicycling enthusiasts of all ages are invited to mark their calendars for Sunday, April 23, for the sixth annual Tour de Canyon Lake.

Each year, the Canyon Lake Fitness and Triathlon Club holds an organized bike ride through Canyon Lake. In exchange for a donation of IAMS or Pedigree pet food, pet supplies or a financial contribution, the first 50 participants to show up receive an event T-shirt.

A limited supply of T-shirts are available for $10 each. Proceeds from the event are donated to Animal Friends of the Valleys.

The bike ride will begin at 9 a.m. in the lodge parking lot. Organizers say the full route around the community is approximately 15 miles and takes about an hour to complete.

The route will be inside the gates as follows: lodge to the main gate to the end of Continental Dr.; Continental Dr. to the east gate; east gate to the campground; campground to the lodge.

Those who have young children or who don’t want to ride the full route are welcome to take a shorter route. This is not a race; it is an informal ride for all who can ride that distance at any pace.

There are no registration forms to fill out. To participate, just show up at the lodge. For more information, visit canyonlaketriathlonclub.com.
