The Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club is holding its annual Jr. Bassmasters Tournament this Sunday, April 9. The tournament is open to all youths, ages 11 to 15, who are interested in tournament bass fishing. Canyon Lake residency is not a requirement.

Registration is $25.00 and covers the cost of joining The Bass Federation.

The tournament is a qualifying event for the state finals on May 28 on the California Delta. One winner at the state finals will earn a trip to the Junior World Championship in Columbia, South Carolina, in August. Previous participants from Canyon Lake have won scholarship money at the Junior World Championship.

Registration is a must; organizers need to know how many boats to provide. To register, contact Sal Gervasi at 951-746-4072.

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club. Residents who like to fish and want to improve their skills in a low stress, friendly competitive environment are welcome to join. For more information about membership, contact Bassmasters Club President Terry Voss at 951-536-9341.
