The Hollow Suns will be the opening act for the Classic Rock All Stars concert at the Lodge on April 22.

The young band originated in Los Angeles in June of 2015. Band members consist of 24-year-old AJ Tucci who plays bass and vocals; 22-year-old drummer and vocalist Jesse Farmer and 23-year-old vocalist and lead guitarist Troy Braunstein.

Troy said, “The Hollow Suns influences are a little bit of everything: Classic rock n roll, grunge, surf rock, blues, psych rock and indie. Bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Steppenwolf to bands like the Ramones, The Clash, and Television, to modern rock bands like Nirvana, The Strokes, Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, and Cage the Elephant.” Coincidentally Doug Schultz, the POA concerts promoter and concert manager for the Entercom radio stations in San Diego, has produced concerts in San Diego with many of the bands Troy mentioned.

The Hollow Suns have a variety of original songs that share their diverse influences and touch on many subjects, storytelling, introspective lyrics and things that they feel compelled to write about. “We had a placement of a song we did for a Casamigos Tequila commercial for George Clooney and Rande Gerbers,” said Troy.

The Hollow Suns past performances include shows in Mexico, Las Vegas, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and headliner shows in popular Los Angeles clubs.

“Our future plans are to hit the studio and finish off recording a handful of songs at Atlantic Records Studios and release them independently as an EP,” said Troy. “We will also keep playing our local Los Angeles circuit now that we just got a new band member drummer replacement as well as some out of town gigs for European dates at the end of summer and possibly Mexico and Vegas at some point this year.”

Doug Schultz says The Hollow Suns will be a hit with Canyon Lake’s younger demographic. “We are lucky to have them perform here on the same night as The Classic Rock All Stars.”

The concert will be a combination of young Alternative Rock meets older Classic Rock and is an all ages show. “The Hollow Suns are very excited to be opening for The Classic Rock All Stars,” said the concert promoter. “Troy told me they have grown up listening to the members’ bands and have been greatly influenced by the bands they represent.”

The Classic Rock All Stars are a supergroup made up of band members from the famous classic rock bands Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly, Blues Image, Blue Oyster Cult, and Alice Cooper.

“This show takes the audience on a dazzling journey through time and the awe inspiring thrills of a truly special time in history. With The Hollow Suns opening the show we now have an eclectic line-up that all ages of Canyon Lake residents will enjoy, said Doug.

“The one request I have had from the people of Canyon Lake was to book some rock n roll. Well, this is the show that those who have asked should go see. This concert features two full bands and it’s going to be a good one.”
