Family Matters Club to host Easter, comedy events

The Family Matters Club is hosting its third annual Glow-in-the-Dark Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Holiday Harbor. The community-wide event will begin with games and crafts followed by a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt on the grass area. Food and snacks will be available for purchase. The Family Matters Club said residents can look forward to a few other surprises too.

A purchase of a $5 wristband is required to participate in the games and Easter egg hunt.

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. Monthly meetings are held the first day of the month. The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community and to raise funds for future events and provide philanthropic donations. For more information, call 714-394-4885.

On April 23, the club is hosting a Family Comedy Club Night for the community. Stand-up comedian Justin Berkman will be headlining.

Justin is a fixture at some of the top comedy clubs in Los Angeles. He also has hosted events for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and entertained U.S. troops in 16 countries.

A spokesperson for the Family Matters Club said, “This is a kid and family friendly stand up comedy night. The show is approximately one and a half hours and includes a warm up comedian and a headliner. The jokes are family and kid oriented with no adult language. We look forward to having you all join us for our first ever Family Comedy Night.”

Tickets are $15 for adults; $8 for kids. Doors open at 5 p.m.; show begins at 6 p.m. The club said there will be pizza, hot dogs, nachos, side salads, sodas and desserts for available for purchase.
