Linda and Hans Wegs celebrate 53rd wedding anniversary

On Sunday, March 12, Hans and Linda Wegs celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary at Clifton’s Cafeteria in downtown Los Angeles, a place Linda loves and has fond memories of.

“It had just re-opened last year after being closed for many years for renovations. It’s located on Broadway, between 6th and 7th streets. Linda’s father use to take her when she was a little girl in Huntington Park. They would hop on the trolley car from Huntington Park to downtown Los Angeles where they would eat at Clifton’s Cafeteria. It’s been there since the 30s.” says Hans.

“The trolley car still exists and is now at the Railroad Museum in Perris where we rode on it during the Classic Car show there. Most of it is still like it was many years ago.”

The Wegs said they enjoyed eating lunch at Clifton’s Cafeteria and that it brought back fond memories for Linda. After lunch, Has and Linda headed for the Santa Monica Pier, a place Linda has never been but always wanted to visit.

“After fighting heavy traffic, which I hate, we finally made it to the end of the trail of Route 66 on the West Coast.

Several times we were at the beginning of route 66 in Chicago,” says Hans. “It was an enjoyable anniversary and Linda loved it.”
