Letter: Veterans Day Committee

Once again, the Canyon Lake Veterans Day Celebration Committee provided us with a wonderful tribute to all veterans and particularly to our local service members. This year was very special to me.

When my husband and I moved here five years ago, my husband and I attended the Veterans Day Celebration and he said to me:  “Isn’t this nice…here we are honoring millions of veterans, as we should, yet this little local event makes me feel very proud and important as one individual veteran.”

This year, the ceremony was particularly personal for my beloved husband, Bruce Walker, “one individual veteran” who passed away just six months ago. Our entire family thanks you for the very memorable moments of celebrating his service to our America.
