Parade of Frights was a spooktacular event

The 20th annual Parade of Frights was in full swing last Saturday, October 29. The spooktacular event, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, had a great community turnout. Thunder, the Storm Stadium mascot, made a special appearance and treated the crowd to some thunderous entertainment leading an energized parade of costumes around the Towne Center. The costume contest boasted an array of creative costumes from ghosts and zombies to minions, Dr. Seuss and a little Starbucks barista.

2016-nov-4-ff-a-15Drake Petrich, Dallas Lee, Isabella Hernanades and Amy Bassett were the winners of the Best Costume Contest in their age groups.

There was a variety of fun entertainment for the crowd. Resdient DJ Mike Shroyer of Good Time Entertainment provided rockin’ tunes for everyone and ABC Bounce provided a bounce house, jumbo slide, inflatable obstacle course and some fun games for those who were up to the challenge. The special guest, Thunder, was a bolt of energy creating a lot of excitement and laughter for the children and adults alike.

The trick-or-treaters were in full swing. More than 50 of the Town Center businesses hosted a candy give-away in which the kids who entered the “Treasure Map” raffle could enter the drawing after getting their Treasure Map stamped by each of the businesses they went to for a treat. Jessica Nathanson, Isabella Hernandez and Gwen Genovese were the lucky winners of the raffle.

Chamber spokesperson Alison Burrafato says, “Thanks to everyone who made the Chamber of Commerce’s 20th annual Parade of Frights event a real treat!”
