Letter: Main Gate and Lake

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

Changing the main gate cost member $880.00 for two boxes, a bathroom and two air conditioners right in front. It’s unfinished. To top it off, a lot of property owners did not even want it. To finish it will cost a lot more money and time.

Fighting the lake lease, the POA has spent at least $600,000 more of our money to keep us from having to pay another $20 a year per household for the lease. I can almost go out to dinner for that amount.

As far as the other complaints to Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD), we are maybe the only people able to water ski and swim in a reservoir. We already require insurance for every little thing in this community. We should look after the lake because we are privileged to use it; it’s the one thing that makes Canyon Lake unique and keeps property values high. The POA has endangered this privilege and our relationship with EVMWD.
