Cub Scouts attend Star Wars-themed campout

The Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts of Canyon Lake’s Cub Scout Pack 346 attended a Star Wars-themed campout at Webelos Woods at Mataguay Scout Ranch from September 30 through October 2. The weekend of games, hikes and activities is designed to assist Cub Scouts as they begin their transition into Boy Scouts.

While attending camp, Scouts are encouraged to take part in setting up and decorating their campsite as well as preparing their own meals.

During Saturday’s events, the boys participated in various team-building and fun as well as competitive activities. In addition to learning the Patrol Method (which is the way Boy Scouts organize experiences in group living, working, and playing), Scouts learn to take leadership roles. Arrow Scout Zane Zander took the Patrol leader position while Matt Thomas was Assistant Patrol Leader.

The Scouts and Leaders of Pack 346 were most proud of receiving the Spirit Award for the weekend. Additionally, the Scouts placed in five of the 10 weekend events, earning one 1st place, three 2nd place and one 3rd place ribbons.

Pack 346 is for boys in grades 1 through 5 in Canyon Lake, Canyon Hills and Tuscany Hills. New Scouts are welcomed throughout the year. For more information contact socalpack346@gmail.com or call 951-363-3346.
