After Lunch Bunch

Here are the results of last week’s After Lunch Bunch Two Man Tin Whistle, with 36 golfers teeing off from the Green Tees.

1st: Lance Brown and Randy Bonner, 59.

2nd: Chuck DeSalvo and Ed Doidge, 57.

3rd: Ken Dettling and Oscar Rowland, 56.

4th: Fran Pothier and Bob Tice, 55.

There is always a 25 maximum handicap “Skins” game for those golfers playing the Blue Tees.

Golfers who play from the Green Tees can also enter the Skins contest but they only receive one stroke per hole.

Last week there were three winners: Chuck Hudson, Marv Tweedy and Bob Tice.

The After Lunch Bunch is a weekly Friday game for any male golfer with a handicap. It is on summer schedule, with the first tee time at 8 a.m. Sign up between 6:30 and 7:15 a.m. in the Magnolia Room or by phone at 249-4565 or 237-6102. The entry fee is $5; there is an optional skins game for an additional $5.

9ers Golf Club

Ladies are invited to play with the 9ers Golf Club; all levels of golfers are welcome.

The club meets each Thursday, at 8 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club. They tee off at 8:30.

Family Golf Club

Membership in the Family Golf Club is open to all golfers – men, women and youths are welcome.

The club’s official golf day is Wednesday, at approximately 11:30 a.m. Some members schedule golf days on Mondays, Fridays or Saturdays at 11:30.

The tournament director works closely with Golf Pro Pat Kemball and his staff to assure that tournaments are balanced. Organizers say all members enjoy a fun and friendly atmosphere.

The Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA). It holds open meetings the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.
