So much changes in August with kids heading back to school, including the schedule at the  Canyon Lake Library. The Library’s Summer Reading Program, “Read for the Win,” concluded Saturday, July 30. Regular programing returns to the Library in August.

According to Librarian Sandra Brautigam, this year’s reading program had 386 participants and gave out 878 reading incentives and 109 drawing prizes for adult-reading and extra-reading.

Grand prize winners were as follows:

For ages 0-3, Owen Hixon won a Vtech Teach and Touch Elephant donated by Toad Studios of Lake Elsinore.

For ages 3-12, Ethan Parslow won the Rock Fitness pass package.

Teen winner Daniel Varvello also won a Rock Fitness pass package.

The winner of the teen “Guess the Title” was Alexa McKee. Her ticket was pulled from among eight correct titles. She received a pair of movie tickets.

The “What Am I” contest had 32 correct answers, but it was Luke Thomas’s ticket that was selected. The answer was “geodes,” and he won the Jar containing 13 geodes provided by the Lake Elsinore Gem and Mineral Society.

The incentives for readers, prizes, guessing games and contests were provided by the Friends of the Canyon Lake Library and community donations.
